Live Updates: Vols aim for third-straight series-win with Auburn in Game 3
The Tennessee Volunteers will take part in their fourth-straight rubber match to begin Southeastern Conference play with game three at Auburn set for Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock eastern time.
Tennessee (25-6, 6-5 SEC)dropped game one to Auburn (18-12, 2-9 SEC) 9-5 on Friday before run-ruling the Tigers on Saturday 12-2. The win snapped a six-game losing skid for Tennessee at Auburn as it was the first win on The Plains since the series-opener in 2016. With a win on Sunday, it would be the first series-win at Auburn for Tennessee since 2005.
Veteran left-handed hurler Zander Sechrist (1-0, 2.55 ERA) will get the ball for the Big Orange while righty Will Cannon (0-0, 5.54 ERA) will pitch first for the Tigers. Auburn has utilized the ‘opening’ strategy on the mound in all three games of the series.
