Live Updates: Tennessee opens pivotal conference series with No. 3 Florida
Tennessee baseball is back n action at the friendly confines of Lindsey Nelson Stadium Thursday for game one against arch-rival Florida.
The Vols (21-8, 4-5 SEC) tagged top-ranked LSU for 14 runs during Saturday’s game three win in Baton Rouge to avoid the sweep. Tennessee outscored the Tigers during three games, losing games one and two by a combined four runs. Meanwhile, the Gators (25-5, 7-2 SEC) are coming off a series-win over Auburn and a midweek victory over Bethune-Cookman.
Ace Chase Dollander (4-2, 3.92 ERA) will get the ball first for Tennessee on the weekend and will be squaring off with fellow right-handed hurler Brandon Sproat (4-1, 5.45 ERA) here tonight. Gators first baseman, and No. 3 pitcher, Jac Caglianone leads the country with 18 home runs this season.
Weather permitting, these two teams will be back in action Friday night at 7 pm eastern (SEC Network) and conclude the series on Saturday at 2 pm eastern (ESPN 2). All three games in the series will be nationally televised.
