A blocked punt by Ohio State defensive end Caden Curry set the Buckeyes offense up at the Purdue 8-yard line. From there Ohio State ran it four straight times before quarterback Will Howard finally punched it in from one yard out. The Buckeyes lead the Boilermakers 7-0.
Buckeyes force 3-and-out on opening drive

Purdue’s opening drive started out well with running back Devin Mockobee gaining 19 yards on two carries. The Buckeyes defense shut the Boilermakers down after that, however.
A 10-yard sack by Ohio State defensive end J.T. Tumoloau and linebacker Cody Simon on 2nd-and-4 put Purdue in 3rd-and-long and the Boilermakers failed to convert.
Tyleik Williams available against Purdue

Ohio State senior defensive tackle Tyleik Williams was first listed by head coach Ryan Day as ‘day to day’ on Tuesday. The status of the star defender was again updated Wednesday night. It was considered to be a positive update.
Saturday was the best sign yet, though, that Williams may play for the Buckeyes. He is not listed on the program’s official ‘availability report’ for the game against Purdue (Noon, FOX).
