Live updates: Billy Napier recaps Florida Gators second scrimmage
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators held their second and final scrimmage of training camp on Saturday in The Swamp. UF coach Billy Napier met with the media Monday to review the scrimmage and camp overall.

Billy Napier live updates
* “The scrimmage went well. We were able to get a ton of work in,” Napier said. The Gators had 160 plays total on offense, defense and special teams.
* “I thought the defense was much better. Less mental errors,” Napier said. “We did a good job playing red-zone defense and we got some takeaways.”
* “Offensively, we had a good day on third down. Overall, much cleaner, much more efficient,” Napier said, noting how the unit avoided penalties. “We had some explosives.”
* “I’ve been very pleased,” Napier said of the O-line. “We definitely have a two-deep there that we’re confident in, but there is competition. A lot of that will be determined week to week. In particular, the pass protection has been much better.”
* Napier provided an update on running back Montrell Johnson Jr., who’s been out after minor knee surgery. “Montrell is doing fantastic,” he said. “We anticipate being able to participate in practice. We have confidence that Montrell is doing great and feel good about his return.”
* It’s extremely competitive,” Napier said of the RB room with Treyaun Webb, Ja’Kobi Jackson, Jadan Baugh and KD Daniels. “I couldn’t tell you who’s running out there.”
* Napier on the injuries at WR: “Lower body injury for Baby J [Ja’Quavion Fraziars]. Andy Jean has an upper body injury. Tank [Hawkins] is day to day. Nothing long term for that. Baby J and Andy are to be determined.”
* Napier added that cornerback Devin Moore was out over weekend due to tonsillitis will be back practicing this week.
