Latest string of visits fruitful for 2025 4-star Hylton Stubbs

Orange Park (Fla.) Mandarin 2025 four-star safety Hylton Stubbs used a lot of frequent flyer miles in June. He left a lot of programs with new offers.
Stubbs, the No. 74 overall prospect in the On3 Industry rankings, went to a lot of campuses with a point to prove. He camped with Georgia, Clemson, Texas A&M and Alabama.
“It was about going to camps and showing coaches that I’m the best safety in the country,” Stubbs told On3. “I went to Georgia, showed them that I’m the best, and left with an offer. Went to Alabama left with an offer and went to Texas A&M, camped and got the offer. This summer was about the campaign of showing everybody in the nation what I can do.”
Coaches raved about Stubbs as a player. He also felt things get a little more in-depth in conversations with coaches at multiple programs.
“With all the schools they talked with my family, it was more deep in these last couple of visits,” Stubbs said. “They’re really trying to get to know me as a person and really trying to get transcripts and get me to come to play for their program.”
New offers set to make an impact on Hylton Stubbs
On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Florida out front for the four-star safety at the moment. The Gators have a 53.6 percent chance of landing Stubbs according to RPM.
They have company near the top. Stubbs’ options are wide open.
“I’m not leaning toward anyone right now, it’s all still very much in the air,” Stubbs said. “I’m still trying to get to more schools and get more experiences and see what other people are about.”
One of the new contenders is Alabama.
“(Nick) Saban is like the king of football or the Godfather, so that was a blessing for Nick Saban to want me to come to play for their program that was cool,” Stubbs said. “That’s one of the best feelings a football player can have.”
Georgia is also now in the fray. Georgia’s intense culture stuck with Stubbs.
“It was the intensity,” Stubbs said. “Those Georgia boys go hard day in and day out. I like that about the place. They’re always going 110 percent. I really like that.”
Clemson did not offer Stubbs but he did get a peek into the culture at Clemson which was much different than what he experienced anywhere else.
“I sat in the room and went over the film with coach (Mickey) Conn for a good while,” Stubbs said. “They’re really down-to-Earth people. I’m hoping they’re getting ready to pull the trigger on me to be honest. I think they like me a lot. I want to see what they think of me at this point.”
What’s next?
Stubbs will be at Florida at the end of the month for the annual end-of-summer cookout. He doesn’t have anything set at the moment. Stubbs does have strong ties with the Gators early in his recruitment. Gainesville is also close to home for Stubbs.
“It sounds like a lot of fun, it was like why not go up there and have some fun with a lot of other recruits,” Stubbs said. “It’s close to home and it was really my favorite team growing up. That’s really why they’re high like that. I’ve been up there a lot and they’ve shown me a lot of love.”
