Landon Blum adds Iowa offer
After two visits to Iowa City this week, rising Class of 2027 in-state wide receiver Landon Blum has added a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes. The 6-foot-5, 175-pound Woodbine native was at Iowa’s camp on Thursday and then returned for the Hawkeye Tailgater on Saturday, which is when he received the offer.
“I went to the camp on Thursday and it was really good,” Blum told HawkeyeReport.com. “I got to catch up with a lot of the coaches and meet a lot more of the staff. After that, I came back down to the University of Iowa for their Tailgater today,”
Blum, who had 50 catches for 839 yards and 17 touchdowns his freshman year at Woodbine, took us through his day in Iowa City on Saturday.
“We got there and I sat down with my family and the wide receivers coach, Jon Budmayr, and got some lunch, which was really nice,” said Blum. “I really liked all the coaching staff and how Iowa runs their program.”
“We got to tour the facility after lunch and then after that we went into some meetings about academics, which I really liked to learn about, and then went into some position meetings,” Blum said. “I am really excited to see Iowa’s new offense this year with their new offensive coordinator.”
“After meetings, I got called up to Coach Ferentz’s offense, which is when when he gave me the scholarship offer to play at the University of Iowa,” said Blum.
Overall, Iowa is offer No. 2 for Blum as the Hawkeyes join Iowa State on his early list.
“My honest reaction to getting the offer was that I was so thankful and grateful for all God has done for me and all the blessings I’ve had to even be in the position that I am today,” Blum said.
Up next for the Class of 2027 prospect will be two more college trips this month.
“I’m going to Georgia on the 21st and Kansas State on the 23rd,” said Blum.
