Lamont Butler, Jaxson Robinson listed as questionable vs. South Carolina

Per the SEC’s Availability Report, Kentucky guards Lamont Butler and Jaxson Robinson have both been ruled QUESTIONABLE for Saturday’s game against the South Carolina Gamecocks (10-12; 0-9 SEC).

This is good news with Butler, who has missed the Wildcats’ last three games due to a shoulder injury. Head coach Mark Pope said Thursday that Butler was going to be a non-contact participant in practice. Kentucky’s starting point guard appears to be trending in the right direction, but we’ll know for sure if he’s good enough to play when the SEC releases a final report roughly two hours before tipoff.

As for Robinson, he’s an unexpected addition to the report. He’s appeared in all 22 games for the ‘Cats this season as a starter. His 16.1 points per game against SEC opponents lead the team as he’s shooting 48 percent from the field and 47.9 percent from deep.

Backup point guard Kerr Kriisa also remains out after suffering a foot fracture on Dec. 7 against Gonzaga. There is no timetable for his return. For South Carolina, forward Myles Stute, who has not played since Jan. 4, has also been ruled out.

Kentucky and South Carolina will tip off at noon EST on Saturday inside Rupp Arena on ESPN2.
