Kyren Lacy’s agent calls out NFL, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after death of former LSU WR

Alliance Sports’ Rocky Arceneaux, the agent of the late former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy, criticized the NFL and the Lafourche parish Sheriff’s Office in a scathing letter released Friday by ESPN insider Adam Schefter. Lacy, a potential NFL Draft pick next week, committed suicide April 12 after being involved in a car chase with Houston-area police.

Prior to his death, the 24-year-old Lacy was facing a grand jury summons on Monday in Baton Rouge on charges of negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run stelling from a fatal crash on Dec. 17, 2024, that resulted in the death of 78-year-old former U.S. Marine, Herman Hall.

According to a Harrison County sheriff’s report released on Sunday and obtained by ESPN, Lacy was being pursued by authorities at the time of his death. The chase occurred late Saturday night and ended with Lacy’s vehicle crashing.

When officers approached the vehicle to remove Lacy from the car, they found he had already died in an apparent suicide by gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

Officers had been initially dispatched when a female family member reported a verbal altercation with Lacy that ended with Lacy firing a gun into the ground. Lacy then fled in his car, with police later picking up pursuit.
