Kentucky Showing Interest in 2025 4-Star Guard Jerry Easter
Kentucky’s new staff is starting to show interest in some new names in the 2025 class. One of those players is 2025 four-star guard Jerry Easter II.
The 6-foot-4 combo guard from La Lumiere (La Porte, IN) has a Kentucky connection. He previously worked out with former Kentucky forward Justin Edwards. Now, he’s getting some UK interest of his own. Kentucky’s new head coach Mark Pope reached out to Easter’s father recently.
“The whole staff is going to see him play next weekend in Indianapolis,” Easter’s father, Jerry Easter, told KSR+. “We’ve been watching Kentucky our whole life. We love Kentucky. Derek Anderson went there. Jerry works out with Derek Anderson.”
As for the younger Easter, he doesn’t know a lot about Kentucky’s program. However, the talented guard does like what he’s seen so far from the new coaching staff.
“I like how they’ve been building their program and reaching out to me,” he said. “They seem like cool coaches. I like how they’ve been talking to my dad.”
Easter hopes to take a visit to Kentucky at some point. He’ll be paying attention to several factors.
“School-wise, the coaches, and seeing where I’d fit,” he said. “I want to see the facilities and everything. All the little things.”
Not Rushing the Recruiting Process
Jerry Easter may be nearing his senior year, but he isn’t rushing to make a college decision. Instead, he’s looking to increase his stock this summer.
“The experience has been good,” Easter said. “It’s been really good. It’s a lot, but it’s cool. I’m taking my time and not rushing anything.”
Easter has already taken official visits to Oregon and Georgia Tech. He broke down each program:
Oregon: “I like the facilities and I like the players.”
Georgia Tech: “My dad has a good relationship with the coaches, especially Coach [Damon] Stoudemire. Also, seeing the players and facilities.”
Easter has no upcoming visits planned. He said he’s looking to make a college decision after the end of the AAU season.
“[I’m looking for] a home, a coach that can help send me to the NBA, and a place where I can get better and compete,” he said.
Jerry Easter’s Game
Four-star guard Jerry Easter of La Lumiere (IN) School is the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Easter as the No. 46 player overall, the No. 3-ranked combo guard, and the No. 3 best player in Indiana.
Easter considers his motor to be the greatest strength in his game.
“I play hard throughout the game and I’m a leader on the floor. I can control the offense and play point guard.”
Moving forward, Easter is focused on improving his game all around. However, he specifically wants to hone in on his shooting.
“I’m a hard-working person and will do anything to win,” Easter said. “I want to win a national championship.”
