Kentucky reportedly contacts Nevada transfer forward Nick Davidson

A back-to-back All-Mountain West performer, Nevada transfer Nick Davidson is hearing from the Wildcats.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Kentucky is one of over 30 Division I schools to reach out to Davidson. After spending the last three seasons with the Wolfpack, the 6-foot-10 stretch forward elected to enter his name into the portal on Monday. On his way to being named All-Mountain West Second Team this past season, Davidson averaged 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 33.2 minutes per game.

He started all 33 contests for Nevada on 50 percent overall shooting, 37.1 percent shooting from deep on 3.8 three-point attempts per outing, and 69.9 percent from the free throw line. Davidson will have one year of college eligibility remaining at his next stop.

Nevada transfer forward Nick Davidson has heard from the following schools since entering the portal, per source:

North Carolina
Kentucky
St. John’s
Louisville
Texas Tech
Arizona
Cal
Illinois
Missouri
Oklahoma State
Providence
Purdue
Stanford
USC
Virginia Tech
Washington
Xavier… https://t.co/S5hpz9m0vb

Just looking at the offensive numbers, it’s easy to see why Mark Pope and his staff would have interest in Davidson. Despite a high usage rate, he was incredibly efficient for a big man. He can stretch the floor with his shooting and passing ability. After averaging 1.4 assists per game as a sophomore in 2023-24, he doubled that number in 2024-25 with only a few more minutes per outing.

All that being said, Kentucky’s season is still alive. The staff will continue to keep an eye on the portal (a necessity in today’s college basketball landscape), but the priority is focused on going as far in the NCAA Tournament as possible. Davidson is going to have plenty of suitors in the meantime — some from teams still alive in the postseason, some not. We’ll have to wait and see how serious UK’s interest in.

Below are the schools he’s heard from so far, according to Tipton.
