Kentucky players thank the Big Blue Nation with heartfelt social media posts
Mark Pope‘s first team will always have a special place in the hearts of the Big Blue Nation, and the same can said about the players and their lone season at UK.
Kentucky’s 2024-25 roster saw six of its top eight leading scorers guided by seniors and graduate students. Koby Brea, Lamont Butler, Amari Williams, Andrew Carr, Jaxson Robinson, and Ansley Almonor all produced terrific seasons in their own right during their one and only season in Lexington. We can’t forget Kerr Kriisa either, who broke his foot early during a game in the season yet still had the guts to get back on defense. Unfortunately, Kentucky’s season came to an end in tough fashion with Friday night’s loss in the Sweet 16 to Tennessee.
However, all of them took full advantage of their final year of college eligibility. Throughout the season, they talked about how grateful they were to play for a Blue Blood like Kentucky. With some of them coming from mid-major programs, this experience was not one they took for granted.
To give a nod to the Wildcat fans, a handful of players took to social media to express their love for UK. Even the underclassmen such as Otega Oweh and Brandon Garrison, who at this time are expected to return for another season under Pope in 2025-26, had to show the fans some love online. Butler, who battled a shoulder injury for over two months, made sure to give a shoutout to team trainer Brandon Wells.
