Kentucky OT Gerald Mincey, South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers exit game due to injury

So far, not so good for Kentucky vs. South Carolina. Not only did the Cats allow the Gamecocks to score on a wide-open 24-yard touchdown pass to Mazeo Bennett Jr., one of the key pieces of the Big Blue Wall had to leave the field due to injury.
Offensive tackle Gerald Mincey went down with a lower leg injury on Kentucky’s third drive. He left the game and has not returned. The transfer from Tennessee is in his second game with the Wildcats after two seasons in Knoxville and two at Florida. South Carolina’s defensive line is already giving Kentucky fits, leaving Brock Vandagriff scrambling; being down Mincey is not helping matters. So far, Anfernee Crease is struggling in his spot. UK Sports Network’s Dick Gabriel reports that Mincey’s left knee is taped and his brace is back on.
The Gamecocks are also dealing with an injury. After an impressive start, quarterback LaNorris Sellers exited the game with a lower-body injury. Senior backup Robby Ashford is now in at quarterback. ABC’s cameras showed Norris going to the locker room with what looked to be a slight limp. South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer said that Norris hopes to return and is being checked out.
South Carolina leads Kentucky 7-0 after the first quarter. The Cats have just 30 yards of total offense to the Gamecocks’ 87.
