Kentucky opens as the favorite vs. Illinois in NCAA Tournament Second Round
Vegas has spoken and No. 3 seed Kentucky opened as a 1.5-point favorite over No. 6 seed Illinois on FanDuel. The total is 169.5 points.
Kentucky beat Troy 76-57 to advance to the second round, covering the 11.5-point spread. Illinois beat Xavier 86-73. Illinois freshmen (and projected first-round draft picks) Kasparas Jakucionis and Will Riley combined for 38 points and 14 rebounds in the win, with Jakucionis coming up just one assist shy of a triple-double. Tomislav Ivisic, Zvonimir Ivisic’s little brother, had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kylan Boswell scored 15 points.
The Cats vs. the Fighting Illini will tip off at 4:15 p.m. CT/5:15 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS. The winner advances to the Sweet 16 in Indianapolis, where they will face the winner of No. 2 seed Tennessee vs. No. 7 seed UCLA, which takes place Saturday at 9:40 p.m. ET (TBS).
