Kenny Wallace makes NASCAR penalty prediction for Bubba Wallace in Alex Bowman incident

Kenny Wallace believes that Bubba Wallace will be penalized for hitting Alex Bowman at the end of the Chicago Street Race on Sunday. The former NASCAR star recently explained why Bubba Wallace will be fined for his actions.

“We’ve watched this play out forever. It happened at Bristol with Jeff Gordon and that whole deal there,” Kenny Wallace said. “When the race is over, it’s over.”

Kenny Wallace then said that he knows Bubba Wallace isn’t well-liked with NASCAR fans, but what he did to Bowman isn’t as severe as some of the other things he has seen.

“The stuff we’ve seen on pit road spin people out after the race,” Kenny said. “I’m not trying to justify it, and I know you all want Bubba to have a penalty. He’s going to get one. But I just don’t know if it’s going to be unbelievable. If he wanted to lie, he could say it was a congratulations tap.

“It was a hard tap. Of course, people come out of the woodwork, ‘Fine him! Fine him!’ I get it. But NASCAR does not like any of that stuff going on when the race is over. It was reported that the window net was down, maybe the seat belts were coming off, I don’t know. I don’t think his seat belt should have been off because he was still on course.”

Kenny continued: “It’s going to be interesting to me how NASCAR reacts to Bubba Wallace going ‘Bang!’ It wasn’t as bad as what we’ve seen in the past. …I’m going to say NASCAR is going to fine him $25,000. But I don’t see a $50,000 fine.

Alex Bowman doesn’t balme Bubba Wallace for hitting him

Bowman won the race and was happy to get his first victory of the season. But he understood why Bubba Wallace was mad at him as Bowman spun Wallace earlier in the race.

“I ruined his day. We had a really — the restart was chaotic,” Bowman said during his post-race press conference. “I just made every wrong decision I possibly could, and I was fighting with my windshield wiper switch trying to get the thing working and I couldn’t get it working and I was focused on that, missed the corner and cleaned him out. I locked all four tires up and slid right into him. I just messed up and absolutely ruined his day.

“I’m pretty hard on myself when I make mistakes like that, and I’ve been embarrassed about it since it happened. The rain delay was just a lot of me sitting there being embarrassed and being mad at myself. He has every right to be mad; I’d be mad, too. I tried to call him during the rain delay and I shot him a text. Nothing I can do to make it better, and I’m sure us winning probably only makes it worse.”
