Kansas State visit impresses wideout Caleb Goodloe

Kansas State has recruited the state of Florida well under head coach Chris Klieman. Part of that was due to former offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham and his ties, but it has continued in his absence, too.
K-State assistants Joe Klanderman, Brian Anderson and Matthew Middleton have history pursuing targets in the Sunshine State. Because of that, the Wildcats’ efforts have not slacked. Heck, Kansas State landed running back Joe Jackson a year ago.
A player from Florida has committed to K-State in every recruiting class in the Klieman era. There is still work to do in the 2024 cycle to continue that trend. A prospect to keep in mind is Clearwater Central Catholic receiver Caleb Goodloe.
Goodloe was in Manhattan on April 11. It was his first time seeing Kansas State.
“My favorite part was definitely watching practice and being able to see Coach [Matthew] Middleton coach a practice in person,” Goodloe said. “Being around Middleton was like hanging with someone you’ve known for a long time. He is a very outgoing person who has a lot of energy.”
It was not the first time the two have met, either. Middleton was recruiting Goodloe while at USF before being hired at K-State.
“We met back in January while he was at USF,” Goodloe noted. “But we are definitely building a stronger relationship. Middleton showing interest in me at K-State as well shows me how strong our relationship is becoming and the potential he sees in me as a player.”
While he does not hold an offer from the Wildcats yet, that could certainly change if he impresses enough moving forward.
“He said seeing me in person at school and talking more could lead to an offer,” Goodloe explained.
Kansas State would be high on his list if they were to offer, though.
“An offer would mean everything,” Goodloe admitted. “It is my dream school. I’ve just always grown up rooting for them at a young age and have always seen myself playing there.”
Goodloe’s favorite player from K-State was also a receiver.
“My favorite player was definitely Tyler Lockett,” he revealed. “I loved how well he used his speed and was such a good possession catcher.”
Goodloe also made trips to Wake Forest and Kansas. His visit to Manhattan stood out above the other two.
“The second I pulled up, I was just so surprised,” he pointed out. “It’s something I never expected in person. The environment and facilities were just so beautiful. It was just the best visit I’ve been on. It was such a welcoming area and the practice was a good feel to what I look for in a program. It was very uptempo.”
The Demon Deacons and Jayhawks are standing out to the junior receiver.
“Kansas reaches out to me a lot and made my visit an amazing time and hit on everything,” Goodloe shared. “Wake Forest was a nice facility with lots of upside and the practice was very enjoyable to watch.”
He did not take any official visits in June, but he did camp at Virginia. Teams will likely want to see more game film of his senior season unless someone budges on him before that.
