Kansas State reaches out to plenty 2025 targets at start of contact period

Kansas State reaches out to plenty 2025 targets at start of contact period

The contact period for 2025 prospects on the recruiting trail began on August 1. That means coaches can reach out to their targets in that particular class. Some reactions from the top prospects on the Kansas State board have begun to roll in at KSO.

Kansas State QB target Alex Manske

Junior quarterback Alex Manske is a prospect from Iowa that has multiple Power Five offers and was extended a scholarship by K-State coaches Chris Klieman and Collin Klein during a June camp after already having visited Manhattan multiple times.

“It was great. We just spoke about advancing relationships and them showing me how this is the place for me the next couple months.”

“What stood out about my conversation with Kansas State was just how interested they were and how much they want me. I spoke with Coach Klein, Coach [Josh] Buford, Coach [Clint] Brown and Coach [Chuck] Lillie.”

WR target Bryson Hayes

One of the top in-state prospects in what will be a loaded crop in the 2025 recruiting cycle is Maize standout Bryson Hayes. He is a speedster that also saw his offer sheet expand over the camp circuit and was once a teammate of K-State quarterback Avery Johnson.

“It was good good. It was finally good to finally be able to talk and build relationships. We talked about how my offseason was going and what’s in the future for this season. I spoke with a bunch of the recruiters and then Coach [Matthew] Middleton.”

TE target Linkon Cure

Kansas State has geared much of their 2025 pursuits inward. As alluded to above, it should be a terrific year locally, and Goodland athlete Linkon Cure is another example of that. He is considered a lock to commit to K-State at some point.

“I had a call with Coach [Brian] Lepak and that was just a normal conversation about what we have both been up to lately. I texted Collin Klein a bit about it all, too. A couple other coaches reached out, but we never really had big conversations.”

“What stood out about my conversation with Lepak is that he genuinely cares about me and my family’s well-being.”

K-State DL target Garrett Martin

Recent moves in conference realignment saw the Big 12 add Arizona to the league. They will begin as a member during the 2024-2025 school year. Kansas State will be seeing those Wildcats a lot more in the future and could capitalize on recruiting that particular state more and more.

Garrett Martin is a defensive lineman from the Phoenix metro that they will be aggressively pursuing.

“It was very good. I like how they text me like I’m a friend and not just a recruit. What stood out to me was how they keep making sure I know how I’m not just another recruit for them. I’m a top priority. I spoke with Coach [Mike] Tuiasosopo, Chuck Lillie and Taylor Braet.”

OL target Andrew Babalola

He may not be the No. 1 player in the state at the moment and it will be tough to catch Mill Valley star Jayden Woods, but Blue Valley Northwest lineman Andrew Babalola would likely be the top prospect in most other years. K-State is squarely in the mix for his services.

“We mainly talked about the upcoming season, for my high school and for them. They’re all really excited to get me back on campus for a game day visit and I am too. Coach [Conor] Riley talked to me about what the schedule looks like for them right now and how they take care of their bodies.”

“What stood out to me was about how intent they sounded in what they were doing. It’s clear they all have the same common goal and want to win. I talked with Coach Riley, Vincent Johnson and Chuck Lillie.”

OL target Jackson Jones

The Wildcats haven’t been as active in Louisiana without Blake Seiler on the staff. However, they have narrowed their sights on on offensive lineman Jackson Jones, though. He has ties to the region and has been to Manhattan multiple times.

“What stood out to me was them letting me know the recruiting period is now open for me and that we can talk as much as we want to. We spoke about how the Summer was and how we spent time with family. We also discussed the beginning of training camp.”

“I spoke with Chuck Lillie and Vincent Johnson.”

DJ Dugar

Kansas State RB target DJ Dugar

Though they are typically pretty picky at the running back spot under assistant Brian Anderson, Kansas State has already been pretty active with target DJ Dugar of Texas. He heard from the staff as soon as August began.

“The conversation went good. I’m ready to start a good relationship with them. I spoke with Coach Anderson and Coach Klein. I just like how excited they are to be recruiting me.”

DE target Jayden Woods

As mentioned early, it may not be much of a battle on who the No. 1 player in the state is for the 2025 recruiting cycle. Those that are pretty privy to evaluations and upsides of prospects remain adamant that Woods can be a five-star prospect.

Those plugged into K-State recruiting efforts also believe the Wildcats have placed themselves to be in contention for the duration of his process.

“Our conversation was great. I’m very glad they reached out. It just felt like I was talking to them the same way I was while I was on campus.”

K-State TE target Chase Loftin

A lot of premiere tight ends are already on the Kansas State recruiting board for the Class of 2025. We already highlighted Linkon Cure, and the Wildcats are really pushing hard for Derby standout DaSaahn Brame as well.

A third is Chase Loftin, who happens to be the younger brother of current K-State tight end Brayden Loftin.

“It was a very quick conversation about my upcoming football season and their camp starting.”
