Kansas State picked second in Big 12 preseason media poll

The Big 12 Conference released their preseason media projections Thursday afternoon. After finishing with the second most players on the preseason All-Big 12 Team yesterday, Kansas State has been picked to finish second in the preseason Big-12 Media poll.
Texas is projected to win the conference tallying 41 first-place votes. The Wildcats received 14 first-place votes. The two schools were separated by just 28 points in the final tally.
Second place is the highest Kansas State has been projected in the preseason media poll since 2004. Last season, K-State was projected to finish fifth in the league before winning the Big 12 Championship game against TCU.
Six different teams in the Big 12 received a first-place vote. The Longhorns received 41, the Wildcats received 14, Oklahoma and Texas Tech each received four, TCU received three and Oklahoma State received a vote.
It is a massive sign of respect to Kansas State that after losing two All-Americans the leagues media still slotted them second. The respect has been constant all off-season for K-State and it has culminated with the preseason awards. Treshaun Ward won Big 12 Preseason Newcomer of the Year as well as the Wildcats having four players on the preseason All-Big 12 Team.
Big 12 Media Days kick off July 12 in Arlington, Texas. Kansas State will be represented by Will Howard, Cooper Beebe, Daniel Green and Kobe Savage as well as Chris Klieman. Beebe and Savage were among the four players named to the preseason All-Big 12 team.
