Kansas State Big Board: 2025 basketball targets surfacing

Kansas State Big Board: 2025 basketball targets surfacing

1. JEREMIAH GREEN

The top spot in our first 2025 Kansas State Big Board of top basketball targets goes to Jeremiah Green. Of the five players on the list, the No. 57 player for his cycle has already visited K-State and hails from Guyer High School in Denton, Texas.

He visited Kansas State last Fall, loves the Wildcats, and that has allowed them to be in a strong spot in his recruitment. Ulric Maligi has K-State as an early threat over the likes of TCU, Texas and Oklahoma.

2. AKAI FLEMING

At first glance, Georgia hasn’t made a considerable move on the four-star wing that plays at Osborne High in the Atlanta area. However, Alabama has just offered. Before that, Akai Fleming was the most involved with both Kansas State and Indiana.

His connections to the Virgin Islands has allowed his family to resonate with both K-State head coach Jerome Tang and assistant Jareem Dowling.

3. MIKEL BROWN

Green is from Texas. Fleming is from Georgia. And Mikel Brown may be the top point guard in America for his class and is from the state of Florida. However, the significant note is that he plays ball at Sunrise Christian in Kansas.

Because of that, Jerome Tang and Kansas State are heavily involved and are standing out early in the process. The assumption is that Kansas and Baylor are as well.

4. MELEEK THOMAS

He is a wing just like Fleming, and look out because he has just stepped onto the platform enough to where Duke, Michigan and Kentucky are offering. That tends to mean K-State isn’t long for the recruitment, but I’m not as quick to dismiss it.

Villanova, Indiana and Pittsburgh are also players for him.

Remember, Meleek Thomas has been recruited extensively already by the Wildcats and went on his own dime to Madison Square Garden to watch Kansas State play in the NCAA Tournament. The five-star from Pittsburgh has strong interest in Tang’s program.

5. AARON ROWE

Our final target worth noting is another nationally-recognized point guard in Aaron Rowe. What makes him significant is that he plays for Link Academy, which was the former home of current K-State assistant Rodney Perry.

Just like they have with Brown and others at Sunrise, Kansas State has been in the school and watched a lot of Rowe and Link Academy in the last year. A lot of folks are linking him to Manhattan, but Missouri, Tennessee, Auburn and Alabama are also connected.
