June USC Official Visits Most Likely to Commit (7/1)
Last month USC head coach Lincoln Riley and staff hosted 2025 official visitors. WeAreSC has provided as much information, insight and perspective as to how it shook out, but what comes after the visits are commitment announcements.
Although we don’t new have details from all 44 total USC prospects who took official visits from May 31 to June 9, we have INTEL on which prospects USC set the bar extremely high with The prospects we’re hearing they feel best about ultimately signing….and a few they’re cautiously optimistic with.
There’s still a ways to go in the recruiting process for many, but commitments will be coming for multiple USC visitors in the coming week.
May 31 to June 2 (11 Visitors)
USC had a legitimate shot at all of the offensive targets visiting May 31 to June 2, but obviously won’t get them all. In fact, WR Emmanuel Choice has committed to Oklahoma, OL Alai Kalaniuvalu is trending to elsewhere, WR Donovan Olugbode is favoring Washington and Missouri, WR CJ Wiley committed to Florida State, Trey McNutt is trending to Oregon and Drake Stubbs decommitted from USC since our last update a week ago.
There were a couple of offensive targets USC felt they set the bar really high with in Spring (TX) Dekaney HS tight end Nick Townsend and his wide receiver teammate Tanook Hines.
The Trojans are still an option for five-star Galveston (TX) Safety Jonah Williams, but not seeing that one ending up a USC victory. At least not right now. They also felt very good about offensive tackle Aaron Dunn from Spanish Fork (UT).
June 7-9 (19 Visitors)
The uncommitted guys USC had the best shot with heading into the June 7-9 weekend were Andrew Marsh, Daylan McCutcheon and Corey Simms. In fact, the Trojans may have been the team to beat for first two of three wide receivers. That no longer appears to be the case on July 2 with Michigan predictions submitted for Marsh and Florida State predictions for McCutcheon.
USC did gain a huge commitment from Simms on Sunday though.
Offensive lineman Nick Brooks from Cedar Rapids (IA) is among the offensive players USC felt really good about on June 9. He visits Iowa this weekend. Two more the Trojans felt really good about were DL Floyd Boucard and DL Hayden Lowe.
Lowe’s already committed to the Trojans and Boucard, who we’ve submitted a USC prediction for, hasn’t announced a commitment date. Our confidence has dropped on him since the June 7-9 visit, but we’ll have more on him later this week.
Five-star cornerback Dorian Brew from Conroe (TX) had an impactful visit to USC, but he committed to Oregon last week.
Although the impact may not have been thought as great right after the visit with four-star linebackers Max Granville, Riley Pettijohn, and Christian Gass, USC had a shot with all three after the June 14 weekend.
WeAreSC believes the Trojans are among the top two schools for both Pettijohn and Gass. Ohio State is the competition for Pettijohn, Georgia for Gass and Granville recently committed to Penn State.
***Keep in mind we’ll refresh this list weekly and if necessary more often, until all of the USC targets officially visiting are committed somewhere.
June 17-23
Heading into this final USC official visit weekend in June, the uncommitted players we believed USC had the best shot with were Jared Smith, Marco Jones, Trajen Odom and Chase Taylor.
USC needed another really impactful weekend to make up ground with Elijah Griffin, Malachi Goodman, Carde Smith and others, we believe they did. Especially with Smith.
Chase Taylor now plans to take his official visit during the season, Odom committed to Ohio St. and Jones is trending to Texas A&M.
We expect Smith, Griffin, Smith and Goodman to be back at USC this fall. There were plans to get guys back on campus in July, but the NCAA extended the recruiting Dead Period to the entire month of July. The last week was open for visits prior to the rules change.
Upcoming commitment announcements
On Tuesday July 2 Santa Margarita (CA) OL Elijah Vaikona will announce his school choice in the late morning or early afternoon. We’ve submitted a USC prediction for him.
Edge Marco Jones is also announcing on Tuesday. July 3 Edge Justin Hill will announce his commitment and Saturday July 6 elite Texas linebacker Riley Pettijohn will announce his.
2025 Commits (13)
USC currently has 12 verbal commits from the class of 2025. Julian “JuJu” Lewis, Drake Stubbs, Matai Tagoa’i, Romero Ison, Harry Dalton, Trestin Castro, Gus Cordova, Willi Wascher, Hayden Lowe, Daune Morris, Corey Simms and Riley Wormley. That list will grow this week barring any surprises.
