JUCO OL lands Miami offer, targeting July or in-season Hurricanes visit

Goodman (MS) Holmes C.C. Class of 2024 OL Markel Bell added a Miami Hurricanes offer last week. And Bell, who visited Auburn officially this summer and went to Mississippi State for a camp, is intrigued by the program.
“I’m going to definitely be visiting Miami during the season, maybe even before the season in July,” Bell said.
Including the Miami offer, Bell now lists 15 scholarships. He’s been in touch with Miami OL coach Alex Mirabal.
“He’s the one that offered me,” Bell said. “When he called he said that he liked what I did on film, would really love me to get down there, that I had an offer from them. I really was excited about it, surprised. I knew it was going to come, though.”
Bell says he’s familiar with the Miami Hurricanes’ history but wants to learn more on a visit.
“What’s important to me is the environment, culture and my teammates there – I have to know them first,” Bell says.
Bell says he has no favorites and that he’ll narrow things down “probably in late July.”
His decision date?
“At the end of the season, by December,” Bell said.
Bell is set to be an early enrollee.
CaneSport’s take
Bell was at one point thinking about coming in the Class of 2023, but decided to return to JUCO because “my recruitment opened up late, is really starting to open up with other schools looking at me now.” Bell had a strong season in 2022 and in the spring “really improved, and my coaches pushed my film out there.” A 6-9, 340-pounder, he’s being recruited as a tackle. He played left tackle last season.
