Josh Jackson Jr. Enters Transfer Portal

Josh Jackson Jr. Enters Transfer Portal

USC sees another Trojan enter the transfer portal this offseason and cornerback Josh Jackson Jr. is the latest to look elsewhere to finish his college career, On3’s Matt Zenitz reported Friday.

Jackson arrived as USC as an early enrollee as part of a 12-member recruiting class in 2020. He began his Trojan career at wide receiver before moving to cornerback that following spring. During that spring camp, he showed that the move was a good one. He eventually earned playing time in the first seven games and started twice before missing the final five due to a shoulder injury.

Jackson finished that 2021 season with nine tackles and recorded his first interception at Colorado.

He was expected to be in the mix at cornerback last year but injuries kept him sidelined. He could never get sustained time on the practice field and did not see action in any game. The same was true this spring.

Jackson should have three years of eligibility remaining at his next school.

USC’s Transfer Portal Offseason

Jackson is the third USC defensive back to enter the transfer portal this offseason. Safety Xavion Alford is now at Arizona State. Fellow safety Briton Allen has yet to find a landing spot. Cornerback Adonis Otey didn’t enter the portal but did not appear on the spring USC roster.
