Joey Gatewood to completely transition to tight end for Louisville
Joey Gatewood is officially a quarterback no more. Joining the Louisville Cardinals earlier this offseason, the former Auburn, Kentucky and UCF QB has completely transitioned to the tight end room for the 2023 season, per his player profile.
He flirted with the wide receiver position at UCF, but his 6-foot-4, 245-pound frame gives the redshirt senior perfect size to be a tight end in the ACC.
He played high school football at Bartram Trail (Florida) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 46 overall recruit in the 2018 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
