Jason Jackson praises pitcher Luke Holman, outfielder Caden Rose as Alabama ties Super Regional against Wake Forest 3-3

An awesome game is currently taking place between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

In Winston-Salem at the Super Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament, the score is currently tied at 3-3 between two of the best teams in the nation. The energy is palpable, and we’re only just halfway through the game.

During the fourth inning, Alabama’s Jason Jackson took some time to speak with the ESPN crew, where he explained why the Crimson Tide were ready for a crazy environment on Wake Forest’s turf, and praised the performance of pitcher Luke Holman thus far.

“We’re fairly used to playing in front of big crowds. That’s kind of part of the gig in the SEC. So you know, the crowd here is awesome. They’re into the game. That’s something we feed off of. Our guys really like that,” explained Jackson. “But yeah, Luke came out and these guys had a great approach. They jumped on him early.

“He left a breaking ball up right there in the second. … He’s really settled in. He seems to be getting a bit better. Last inning was his cleanest inning yet.”

Halfway into the game, Holman has amassed five strikeouts over four innings pitched. While he gave up three runs, the Alabama offense has helped him out, tying the game on a Caden Rose home run following an impressive at-bat that ended in a walk for Dominic Talez.

“Man, they just keep having good ABs,” Jackson said, regarding the Alabama offense. “Dom had an awesome at-bat there, with two strikes to draw that walk, which gave Colby a chance to do what he did. Like you said, it’s an older group, and they’re going to keep fighting for sure.”
