Jasai Miles — North Florida transfer wing — commits to Indiana
Darian DeVries and Indiana basketball dipped into the transfer portal again as North Florida wing Jasai Miles committed to the Hoosiers.
Miles visited Indiana from Tuesday to Wednesday this week.
Miles averaged 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while starting all 32 games for North Florida this season. He shot 33.5 percent from three, on 7.3 attempts a game.
He was a Third-Team All-ASUN performer this season.
Miles scored in double-figures 29 times and six 20+ point games. He had 18 points and 11 rebounds against Georgia Tech, 14 points and eight rebounds against Nebraska and 13 points against Florida.
Miles averaged 5.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in 18.6 minutes a game as a freshman.
“When you increase your percentages, rebounding and add almost 10 points per game all while becoming more efficient, that will raise a lot of eyebrows across the conference and nation,” North Florida coach Matthew Driscoll said of Miles this year. “Jasai Miles has constantly and consistently done what many throughout our program have done, which is understand that work brings profit and to never confuse achievement with activity.
“Jasai will be the first to tell you that it takes a village to reach this level of growth, not only hours with our staff but our student managers, however because of his servant’s heart he realizes that he still has more to achieve.”
Miami, Michigan, St. John’s, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Pitt, UCF, Georgetown and Seton Hall were among the programs who initially reached out to Miles.
Miles is ranked as the No. 232 player in the On3 transfer rankings. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Jasai Miles joins DePaul guard Conor Enright, West Virginia wing Tucker DeVries and Davidson hybrid forward Reed Bailey as the transfer commits this offseason for Indiana.
