Jalil Farooq injury update: Oklahoma WR’s status vs. Alabama revealed on Friday injury report
There aren’t any weeks remaining in the college football regular season, but a landmark clash will take place in the SEC this weekend, as Alabama heads on the road to face Oklahoma in Week 13.
The Crimson Tide is looking to continue their push for the College Football Playoff, while the Sooners are hoping to become bowl-eligible. Ahead of the freshly-minted conference clash, the injury report has been updated for both teams.
Alabama Crimson Tide:
DB Keon Sabb – Out
WR Cole Adams – Out
LB Que Robinson – Out
Oklahoma Sooners:
WR Jayden Gibson – Out
WR Jalil Farooq – Out
WR Nic Anderson – Out
WR Andrel Anthony – Out
WR Deion Burks – Out
DB Gentry Williams – Out
DB Kendel Dolby – Out
OL Joshua Bates – Out
OL Geirean Hatchett – Out
OL Jacob Sexton – Out
OL Jake Taylor – Out
RB Jovantae Barnes – Questionable
Moreover, Alabama took a break from SEC play as it welcomed Mercer to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Week 12. Kalen DeBoer’s group entered as a heavy favorite and cruised to the victory thanks to a big showing on both sides of the ball, led by Jalen Milroe and Ryan Williams.
Alabama went into its game against Mercer with plenty of momentum. The Crimson Tide went into Death Valley and defeated LSU to keep their CFP hopes alive in what was essentially an “elimination game” because of their rankings.
It seems like Alabama is finding its stride under Kalen DeBoer. In fact, he’s stated he’s starting to see a “swagger” develop as the year goes along.
Oklahoma, meanwhile, was idle for the final time this year. The Sooners have had an up-and-down go through their first year in the SEC and are coming off a loss to Missouri in the final seconds, which dropped them to 5-5 entering the last two games of the season.
The clash between Alabama and Oklahoma will take place Nov. 23 in primetime in the 7:30 p.m. ET TV window. We’ll see who isn’t able to get on the field, but the players taking part in the game will be ready to rock when the first whistle blows.
