Inside the top eight schools for four-star 2026 QB Helaman Casuga
Provo (Utah) Corner Canyon On300 2026 quarterback Helaman Casuga released his top eight schools on Monday.
The four-star passer has a keen eye on Arizona, Auburn, BYU, Nebraska, Texas A&M, USC, Utah and Washington.
“All those schools have been super communicative with me,” Casuga said. “Communicative with me and family, always checking up on me. They’ve shown the most love. Great programs. Head coaches always call and just check up.
“I’m grateful in all the schools that saw something in me but it was easy to narrow it down based on love.”
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Casuga is coming off a really nice sophomore season, completing nearly 65 percent of his passes for 4,145 yards and 34 touchdowns. He added another 279 yards rushing.
Easy to see why he’s so coveted and plans on making a college decision no later than Thanksgiving.
Casuga on where his process goes from here
“Next is checking out game days,” Casuga said. “I want to see what it’s like on game day and see if I can play in that type of setting. I’ve seen all the schools. I was able to visit most of the top eight. I haven’t made it out to Nebraska yet but to see game days and the feel of that and build better connections with the OCs and all the head coaches as well.”
Texas A&M will get the first visit from Casuga for the season opener in primetime against Notre Dame.
“The great coaching staff,” Casuga said of what stands out. “I love the area. I can definitely see myself playing there and living there as well. Just want to get my family out there to show them.”
The Washington vs Washington State game on Sept. 14 is on the schedule.
“Washington has bene in great communication,” Casuga said. “Coach (Jedd) Fisch has always hit me and checked in on me always keeping me updated how his team is doing. He loves the way I play and I love his offense as well. The things he was able to do with Noah (Fifita) back at AZ was very impressive. I’m looking forward to how that plays at Washington with his new team. i love their staff and how they approach things.”
Casuga looks forward to visiting Nebraska for the first time when they host UCLA on Nov. 2.
“They’re super selective on who they recruit,” Casuga said. “They’ve shown a lot of love. It’s a great program. The fact they’re willing to take a freshman and put him up as a starter is very key with Dylan (Raiola) over there. Coming out of high school and getting those reps is cool to see. Some programs aren’t big on that. If you’re that guy and you can play they’ll play you. That was something that really stuck out to me.”
Utah hosts BYU on Nov. 9.
“Just the culture,” Casuga said. “Being in Utah and just having those two schools in my top eight is huge for me. Kind of a hometown hero type of thing. And it’s obviously the Holy War so it’s kind of cool. That game is going to be packed. I have a really strong connection with both of the teams. It just feels like home with those two teams. I’m raised in Utah so its very cool.”
Casuga said he’ll also get to a game at USC.
“Coach (Lincoln) Riley,” Casuga said. “Who wouldn’t want to play for one of the best coaches in the game that produces great quarterbacks. They’re always in communication. Once I got that offer I was super pumped last summer. Just being able to have that and a coach like Lincoln Riley believe in me was a big eye opener for me really. Lincoln Riley is self explanatory. He produced some of the great quarterbacks going to the next level and doing extremely well.”
The Skinny
Logging an On3 RPM in favor of Texas A&M. I like where the Aggies stand going into the next wave of visits.
