Incredible 2025 Daytona 500 infield grass design revealed
A month out from the Daytona 500 we now have the official infield grass design that will be in the trioval. It is one of the NASCAR traditions at Daytona to put a different design in the grass each year and this time around it’s a great one.
We have seen various designs in the last few years. For 2025, it is a familiar look for fans. It is the car from the Harley J. Earl trophy, given out to the Daytona 500 winner each year.
With a checkered flag pattern behind the car and a stars and stripes pattern in the front, this is a design fans will love seeing in person and on TV. What do you think about the new design?
More importantly, how many drivers are we doing to see slide through this grass?
The folks at Daytona International Speedway didn’t get too crazy. They stuck with imagery that fans will recognize and it stays true to the Daytona 500 history and tradition. It may seem like a small thing, but all of these small details go into making the atmosphere of this race so great.
There will also be large sponsorship logos in the infield. Those sponsors value those grass spots more than most ad space in NASCAR. And just behind the giant Harley J. Earl design is pit road where the race can be won or lost.
Daytona 500 field shaping up
As far as the race itself, the 2025 Daytona 500 is starting to take form. We have a number of open cars that are going to make qualifying and the Duels exciting again. There could be as many as five teams sent home.
When the stakes are raised like this, it makes the whole experience better. Each part of the week should build excitement and anticipation. Practice this year will give us a glimpse at what we can expect in qualifying. All of that will go into building hype for the Duels.
Last year, it was down to Jimmie Johnson and JJ Yeley for the final spot in the Daytona 500. Being there in person, it created this moment that everyone was focused on and hanging on every move made on the track. Now that’s going to be amplified.
The Daytona 500 is almost here. It is going to be, I think, one of the best 500s in recent memory. If the race itself can avoid becoming a fuel saving race for the most part, we are going to have a fun week in Daytona start to finish.
