In-state RB on Florida: ‘It’s an amazing offer I got from them’

Another Power-Four program has taken the next step with running back Amari Clemons, this time being the University of Florida.

That latest SEC offer was extended on Wednesday evening.

Clemons, a 2026 prospect from Marianna (Fla.) High, last visited the Gators on April 4. It was a strong first experience that now has him even more excited about the possibilities in Gainesville.

“It’s an amazing offer I got from them,” Clemons told Gators Online. “They have a wonderful campus. They also have two weight rooms and great coaches.”

Jabbar Juluke is making his presence felt

Although communication is limited with him only being a sophomore, Clemons is constructing a strong bond with UF’s staff. That is especially the case with running backs coach Jabbar Juluke.

“Knowing him from the first visit until now, coach Juluke is not only a great coach; he’s also going to teach you how to be a man,” Clemons said.

The message from the New Orleans native?

“He said I’m a very great player and that he doesn’t just recruit anyone,” said Clemons. “I guess I’m a standout, which is a great thing.”

Clemons is a national talent on the rise

As expected, a flurry of additional programs view the Sunshine State as a standout as well.

Those offers include Auburn, Miami, Florida State, Ole Miss and South Florida. The Seminoles, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, are trending slightly over the Gators.

It’s early though, and if all goes as planned, Clemons will be back at the Swamp in the near future.

“I’ll have to check back with them to see (about a date),” the 2026 prospect said.

During his sophomore season, Clemons made a major statement with 1,365 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns to show for it. He averaged 8.9 yards per carry and recorded a season long of 85 yards.

Marianna also utilized him in the passing game, as Clemons hauled in 17 receptions for 323 yards and three additional scores. That well-rounded skill set is exactly what Juluke covets from his backs.
