It’s the last weekend of the summer official visit season in Gainesville and the Florida Gators are again set to host several elite recruits. Beginning Friday, 13 prospects will be in town during another important three-day period for coach Billy Napier’s program.

Gators Online is covering these visits from start to finish, with news, notes, intel, photos, video and more.

Below, we’ve listed the recruits expected to arrive on campus Friday. Additionally, we will provide significant moments and/or intel from the weekend in this article. But much of the action will take place in Swamp Talk, our thriving message board community at Gators Online. You can find that thread HERE

Gators Online news & notes from the weekend

*This will be updated as information becomes available.

10:30 p.m. FRIDAY: Billy Napier’s table guest Saturday night at dinner will be none other than 4-star receiver Vernell Brown III. Vernell and his family sat with receivers coach Billy Gonzales at dinner on Friday night. Among those also at the table: Vernell Brown, former Gators DB and the touted recruit’s grandfather.

4:31 p.m. FRIDAY: Ty Jackson, the No. 1 linebacker in the country for On3, has started his official visit. He originally planned to visit FSU this weekend but the Gators bumped the ‘Noles. This is his third trip to Gainesville this year.

-4:28 p.m. FRIDAY: 4-star safety Hylton Stubbs, a USC Trojans commit, just arrived in Gainesville. Florida and Miami are fighting hard to flip him from USC. He probably will take his recruitment into the fall to see how each of these teams do on the field.

-4 p.m. FRIDAY: Auburn offensive tackle commit Tavaris Dice just got to Gainesville. This is a major Gators target and some people at Florida headquarters think UF has a shot. That said, optimism continues to run high in Auburn that the Tigers will hold on. Two-team battle. Slight edge to Auburn in our opinion right now.

-3:45 p.m. FRIDAY: Four-star receiver Vernell Brown III has arrived for his official visit with his family. Four-team battle between Florida, FSU, Miami and Ohio State. Some see the Gators as the favorite entering this visit. But FSU will get his final official next weekend.

-3:04 p.m. FRIDAY: Four-star Auburn defensive line commit Malik Autry has started his official visit. Florida may have the best chance to flip him, but Southern California also is in the mix. The Tigers meanwhile, continue to like where they sit.

-8 a.m. FRIDAY: We believe 4-star safety Lagonza Hayward of Lyons (Ga.) Toombs County is the first to arrive. He actually got into Gainesville on Thursday night and began his official visit Friday morning. He is one of three 4-star safeties on the visit roster this weekend. South Carolina probably is the favorite at this time with Tennessee and Georgia also in the mix. Full story HERE.

-7:45 a.m. FRIDAY: Running back Waltez Clark, the lone Gators commit on the visitors list this week, will be joined by his parents and siblings. They’re expected to arrive in town around 2:30 p.m. UCF is pushing, but the Gators appear to be in a strong spot.
