Hurricanes offer top-30 2025 QB Deuce Knight: “Miami is a big-time school”
Miami has offered Lucedale (Miss.) George County 2025 four-star quarterback Deuce Knight, the On300’s No. 28 overall prospect and No. 6 quarterback in the class. He’s become one of the hottest underclassman targets.
Knight, who is also the No. 85 overall quarterback in the On3 Industry Ranking, hopes to visit Coral Gables for the first time this summer after receiving the offer from offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound quarterback has offers from more than a dozen programs already including Georgia, Notre Dame and Tennessee, among others.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine lists Ole Miss as the early frontrunner with an estimated 41.7% chance of landing the four-star. Tennessee comes in second with an estimated 27.6% chance, and Mississippi State comes in third at 8.4%. Auburn and Notre Dame are tied at fourth with a 7% chance.
But he’s now “very interested” in Miami after the Hurricanes extended the offer.
“I called him and we talked for a bit and he just said he watched enough of my film and he loved my tape and he wanted to offer me,” Knight said. “I was excited about the offer because Miami is a big-time school to get an offer from.”
Knight said he doesn’t know much about the Hurricanes beyond the history of the program and the brand’s notoriety, but he’s heard positive things about head coach Mario Cristobal and wants to learn more about the program.
“I don’t know anything about them, but that’s why I want to get up there — to learn more,” Knight said.
Tennessee, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, TCU, and Washington are “probably the schools recruiting (Knight) the hardest right now,” he said.
Knight’s conversation with Dawson was short and focused on why the Hurricanes are interested in him. Dawson told the four-star he was impressed by his poise, the ability to make throws off-platform and at different arm angles and general athleticism.
Knight also wants to visit Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia and TCU this summer. He’s already visited Ole Miss, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Auburn and Notre Dame. He said he has “great” relationships with those coaching staffs and loves how he would fit into their offenses.
Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Notre Dame, TCU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Oregon, Washington, MS State, South Carolina and Auburn have stopped by his school for evaluation visits this spring.
Knight wants to commit sometime before his senior year but says he does not have a specific date in mind.

Miami has offered a nice list of 2025 quarterbacks offers so far including No. 2 QB George MacIntyre, No. 3 QB Antwann Hill, No. 4 QB Austin Simmons and No. 5 QB KJ Lacey. The Hurricanes are continuing to aim high in next year’s recruiting cycle as they aim to land an elite talent.
