How Florida Gators commit DJ Lagway can win the Elite 11 MVP

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Next month, Florida Gators 2024 quarterback commit DJ Lagway will compete in the Elite 11 Finals. It is the pinnacle for high school quarterbacks and alumni have gone on to win Heisman Trophies, National Championships, and Super Bowls.

Lagway is the No. 3 rated quarterback in the class and the top-rated quarterback in Florida’s 2024 class, which ranks fourth in the country.

The Elite 11 will run from June 14-16 in Los Angeles, California. What does Lagway need to do if he wants to walk away with MVP honors?

Charles Power, On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings, broke down the Elite 11 and what he wants to see from Lagway.

“I think it’s consistency. DJ Lagway’s flashes and talent are arguably the best in this group. He’s big, he has a very strong arm. He’s probably the best athlete of this group as well. I think with DJ Lagway, it’s jut continuing to add consistency and just stacking positive showings week after week,” Power said.

“I think the Elite 11 can be a springboard into his senior season. From an upside perspective, he has a case of having the highest upside within this group. How does he start to put it together and take a positive step forward going into the fall.”
