WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Stay tuned this morning as the team returns to the practice field – we’ll have your news and notes from the viewing period plus all your feedback from the team after the day’s work.
To hold you over till then? We have plenty of football items for you.
We have updates with WR Tyler Harrell, who is eyeing a huge season, DE Nyjalik Kelly, TE Elijah Arroyo, DT Jared Harrison-Hunte, who is back healthy and DT Leonard Taylor, who has renewed resolve. They all have great insight.
Plus in recruiting we catch up with Miami (Fla.) Belen Jesuit four-star 2025 safety Bryce Fitzgerald. He knows plenty about the Hurricanes’ prominence in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s, and he knows about the struggles the program has faced over the last two decades. And Miami is his dream school.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
What happens when Miami has the ball 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 … Posted by Klbcec
That has been the failure for 15 years. Year after year watching Miami fail to get 1st downs.
If this oline can get 1st downs on a run up the middle 85% of the time on those down and distances, then and only then will I believe we are turning the corner.
And let’s hope they actually practice the QB sneak.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“In last year’s defense it was more about being bigger and taking on double teams. Now this defense fits me more. Last year, coach (Kevin) Steele, that was my guy, but his defense didn’t fit my playing style. I had to get used to it, I wasn’t particularly good at it. (Prior to that) Manny Diaz, his defense is more predicated on the D line moving, going to different gaps, just get in the backfield. And now this defense (under Lance Guidry with an aggressive, attacking style) I can see myself excelling at, being a game-changer.”
Miami DT Jared Harrison-Hunte
