WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
We have several new team analysis items for you. We analyze Miami’s five biggest position battles heading into fall camp and power rank the Miami Hurricanes position groups. Agree or disagree with that? There’s the continuation of our State of The U series with a deeper dive into a WR position that has two new freshmen, a transfer and a JUCO arrival. So is it fair to expect a big turnaround in the play here? Read our analysis of that. We also have the running backs breakdown – will Henry Parrish again start? We share our take. Along the same vein, you can check out our analysis using Pro Football Focus metrics of how the receivers need to step up comparatively with the rest of the ACC. Then there is our game by game previews, which continue with games 3-5 vs. Bethune-Cookman, Temple and Georgia Tech. Miami should win all three of those, but what will the challenge be if there is one? Be sure to check that out.
In recruiting? Don’t miss our update on high priority target Kamarion Franklin, who will visit Miami for the end of month BBQ. He updates his status.
We also catch up with QB commit Judd Anderson for his thoughts, including his take on this year’s recruiting class. And don’t miss our update with Theodore (Al.) linebacker and Miami commit Cam Pruitt. He announced his pledge to the Hurricanes in June, but the four-star prospect has other programs pushing.
This morning we also have a new update for you on Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star defensive lineman Aydin Breland. He will be trimming his list to four schools, and the Miami Hurricanes are hoping to see their name among the final group.
Plus we have your July Miami Hurricanes player deep dives with No. 8-10 on the roster – WR Xavier Restrepo, LB Francisco Mauigoa and LB Wesley Bissainthe, respectively.
And in basketball recruiting we had your update on Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood five-star shooting guard Jalil Bethea. He lists UM among his final five programs along with Alabama, Kansas, Syracuse, and Villanova, and has set his official visit date to Miami.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
What would be improvement for coming season … Posted by 6882
Going from 5-7 to 7-5 is not real improvement. That’s going from really suck, to still suck but not AS much. That’s not a standard. That’s literally nothing. That’s still a D grade and comparing a D- to a D+ which is still a lame *** D grade. A D grade is not a passing grade! It’s lame!
Honestly, I’m not worried about going 7-5 this year. I just think that’s unrealistic at where we are going into fall practice. To your point, 8-4 is the floor and my biggest concern. I could easily see us going 8-4 worst case scenario but sincerely believe we’ll do better than that. I just don’t think 9-3 is a huge ask when we’ll only have 4 ranked teams on our schedule with two of those teams lucky to finish in the top 25.
i get that we say this every year and every year I think we’re right. These teams we play are never better than expected. We’ve just been under achieving as is in the proof of our coach’s constantly getting fired and so many players constantly being asked to find new homes.
I doubt we see anywhere near the turn over after this year with coach’s and players that we’ve routinely seen over the previous 15 years. why? Simple… just do your jobs and don’t suck. There’s always been a series of these colossal anomalies that are far from normal that have been holding us back.
Just clean up the bull **** and don’t suck. We have enough in place now to where it shouldn’t be an issue. We see mediocre teams that are way worse off than we are every year finish with give or take 9 win seasons. Not a miracle or cinderella story by any stretch.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
The Hurricanes’ final four seasons in the Big East saw the team win 11 or more games each year and go 46-4 overall with a national title in 2001 and one that was robbed by a bad call in 2002. In the 19 years since the program’s been in the ACC? There has been all of one winning season, 10-3 in 2017.
