WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

Our State of The U series continues. Today we are tackling the biggest question facing the Miami Hurricanes football team this year. So what do we see as the biggest one? It might surprise you.

We also have a column taking a closer look at why Mario Cristobal can succeed in Year 2. So you don’t want to miss that, either.

In recruiting? After a standout freshman campaign and a busy summer, Kingston (Ga.) Cass offensive tackle Bear McWhorter has caught the attention of several Power Five programs across the country, including the Miami Hurricanes, who offered him on July 15. He’ll be on campus this month, so don’t miss his take.

CaneSport also is breaking down the top 30 Miami players on the roster, and today we’re at No. 13, WR Tyler Harrell.

In baseball J.D. Arteaga also shared his thoughts yesterday afternoon with his tenure underway and a lot of work to do. He also spoke with CaneSport about the analytics side of things, something he’s looking to ramp up in a big way. So be sure to check that out, too.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

The CaneSport talent article “Miami Hurricanes’ top talent will need to show out … and Pro Football Focus metrics note a lot of it” … Posted by Dalew2009

Great article, and I’ve been saying this. The team is very talented. Way more talented than a team like North Carolina, Louisville, NC State, and is right up there with Florida State. If things break the right way, this is setting up for a special season.

I read the other day in average the national champion (no I’m not predicting a championship) has on average 7 future first rounders in their depth chart.

Leonard Taylor, Kam, James Williams, Nyjalik Kelly, Francis Mauigo, Samson Okunlola, Reuben Bain, and TVD are all guys I think COULD go in the first round at some point and are who I think will be in the two deep.

Next year I think we will have Taylor, Kam, JW, TVD, Cohen, Lee, Mesidore, Harvey, Devontae Brown all Drafted. That’s 9 guys.

Tons of talent. No excuses.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I’m big on the Canes. I grew up hearing about all the history behind it and how great they were, and I’ve always been interested in them since my process has got going.”

Bear McWhorter, who added a Miami offer and will visit the end of the month
