WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
CaneSport publisher Gary Ferman shares his thoughts on what is significant this summer for the Miami Hurricanes football team as the countdown to kickoff evolves with force. He goes position by position with his take so don’t miss that.
In recruiting?
4-star Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman TE Elija Lofton may be nearing a decision and the Canes appear to be in good shape. So don’t miss what he’s saying.
There’s also our breakdown on recent commit Cam Pruitt, with a closer look at just what he brings to the table for Miami.
Plus, after earning an offer from Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal, things are moving fast between the Hurricanes and Roanoke (Va.) North Cross School offensive lineman Moritz Schmoranzer. He is looking to take a Miami official visit this weekend, so read about that.
And Miami’s made steady progress with Clearwater (Fla.) Clearwater Academy International four-star center Jason Zandamela this spring, who is now considering taking an official visit to Coral Gables. He updates his status.
A RB who also may set an OV is Chandler (Ariz.) four-star Ca’lil Valentine. He updates how he is still being recruited by the Hurricanes and has spoken with Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and running backs coach Tim Harris. He took an unofficial visit to Miami March 31 and could be back for a visit of the official variety.
Plus there’s a breakdown of the transfer portal rankings of the new Miami Hurricanes additions, and UM has the No. 10 ranked portal class per On3. So don’t miss that update. Also be sure to check out our take on the five most impactful transfer portal players Miami has now added to the roster, including an analysis.
We also have an analysis of recent commit San Mateo (Calif.) College of San Mateo cornerback Demetrius Freeney. The CB isn’t going to overwhelm defenders with his raw size and strength, but a few things about his playing style suggest he’ll be more than capable of making a contribution next season.
The top 50 post-spring players on the roster series continues as well. It’s a list that doesn’t include any post-spring roster additions. We have your breakdown on No. 9, LB Francisco Mauigoa.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

TWEETS OF THE DAY
MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Cam Pruitt … Posted by Alcane
Super excited about this pick up and hope it sticks. This kid is aggressive and loves contact almost to a liability because he will try to crush blocks that he won’t be able to do at the next level.
Watching him against lesser teams and he always does his job and not freelance even thought he could. I like his game a lot at LB just a bit small right now so will need some time. Will help this team in his 4 years so a great pick up
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“Coach Mirabal and I talked for a while, and I was very excited. Miami is a good school, both football-wise and academically. I didn’t think they would offer me or even look at me. It was just crazy.”
