WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
There was the huge commitment at the Spring Game from 4-star area WR Chance Robinson, and we had you covered with that as it happened. Then we also had a breakdown of his ability and what he brings to the table for Miami.
Last night there was another commit, with Louisiana DB Dylan Day, who was chased hard by Lance Guidry, announcing his pledge. We had his insight into why he made the decision and a breakdown of his play as well as his coach’s take on what Miami has landed. So don’t miss that.
And, of course, we had all your news from the Spring Game on Friday night. There was Gary Ferman’s column sharing his insight off of it, our recap/reaction item, recruit reaction interviews, sights and sounds from DRV PNK Stadium, interviews with players and coach Mario Cristobal, a photo gallery and our game balls that were handed out based on what we saw. Gary Ferman also answered all your post-Spring Game questions on the War Room message board.
So don’t miss all of that.
This morning there’s also an analysis of five story lines from the spring … and if we’re buying it or selling. We also broke down what we learned from the spring game and gave out our game balls off the Friday night performance.
As for specific recruiting items we also had?
5-star high priority DL Justin Scott spent extended time at Miami this week. He says he built relationships and “felt super comfortable after the time here and that “it definitely felt like family.” So don’t miss all his thoughts and where UM stands.
The Miami Hurricanes also need 4-star area WR Joshisa Trader, and he says he saw a lot of variety in Shannon Dawson’s new offense at the Spring Game and says UM “is progressing with me very well.” Don’t miss his thoughts.
For the first time, Northport (Ala.) Tuscaloosa County four-star running back Kevin Riley made his way down south for an unofficial visit with the Miami Hurricanes. The Alabama native was in attendance for the Hurricanes’ spring game on Friday evening and was quite impressed with what he witnessed from Miami, both on and off the field.
Another Spring game visitor was Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas 2024 On300 four-star safety Ryan Mack. He was delighted to see what the ‘Canes had to offer on the field while also continuing to strengthen his connection with them off the field.
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei defensive lineman Aydin Breland was another of many elite prospects on hand during the Miami Hurricanes 2023 spring game that left South Florida with a lasting impression of Mario Cristobal and his staff.
After locking in an official visit with the Miami Hurricanes in June, Paramus (NJ) Catholic three-star offensive tackle Juan Minaya returned to South Florida for the Canes spring game Friday evening – it as his second unofficial visit to Miami. We catch up with him.
Then there was the news that Riverhead (N.Y.) St. Anthony’s three-star tight end KJ Duff, one of the fast-rising prospects in the 2024 class, has landed a long-awaited Miami offer after visiting. We update his status.
This morning you don’t want to miss our new Inside The Lines feature with recent QB commit Judd Anderson. Growing up, Anderson had dreams of starring on the hardwood instead of the gridiron. With basketball being his first love, it wasn’t until his freshman year in high school that Anderson realized how far the game of football could take him. He talks about that and much more.
There also was the weekend baseball series at UNC, with the Canes taking two of three games. You can read about that.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

Rueben Bain at Spring Game … posted by Nickk10
Gonna look back and laugh our asses off 3 years from now when he’s a first round pick and remember they knew he was a stud but still didn’t give him 5 stars cause he wasn’t an inch taller lol he’s so impressive
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“He was sharp. He continues to take ownership in the offense, get more and more comfortable with it. We have to get the ball out sometimes a little faster, protect a little bit better and we got confused on a couple of formations and routes that we had called, had opportunities to make some big, big plays.”
