WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
There was the big news of the Canes landing a QB commit in the class, with Judd Anderson making the pledge. So don’t miss what he’s saying about the decision as well as an analysis of what he brings to Miami and his high school coach’s take on what Miami’s landed.
And of course be sure to check out our post-practice interviews Saturday with coach Mario Cristobal, QB Jacurri Brown, WR Isaiah Horton, DL Jacob Lichtenstein, WR Jacolby George and WR Brashard Smith. They were very insightful.
And now, with the final week of spring practice here, we have a column titled “3 things I think I know entering final week of spring.” So don’t miss that.
In basketball we also had an update off former Cane Bruce Brown’s big game in the NBA.
There’s also plenty of recruiting news.
Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Five-Star Plus+ WR Jeremiah Smith was a visitor for Saturday’s scrimmage, and we have feedback from him.
Another visitor? Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Chance Robinson. He has taken a handful of trips to Coral Gables including over the weekend as he is continuing to grow his relationship with the Miami Hurricanes. He updates things.
And Miami is getting in on the ground floor with 2025 No. 1 TE Davon Mitchell after his first trip to Coral Gables.
Plus Miami hosted top-100 Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland S Zavier Mincey as the Hurricanes try to sway the 4-star to Coral Gables. An other Saturday visit came from Aiken (S.C.) four-star receiver Braylon Staley. After his visit to Coral Gables, the Hurricanes are starting to truly stand out.
And Roswell (Ga.) Walton 2024 four-star offensive tackle Daniel Calhoun made it a priority to make a trip to Miami before the Hurricanes’ spring game. Particularly as the Canes continue to fight to land his fifth and final official visit. So he updates what he saw on his UM visit.
More recruiting news for you:
Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) The Benjamin School 2024 three-star ATH Ricky Knight’s recruitment is heating up, and Miami and Florida State are duking it out for the 6-foot-1, 167-pound prospect. He visited UM recently and updates where things stand.
Miami is in the race for Lancaster (TX) three-star running back Kewan Lacy, and the Hurricanes solidified their position with the 6-foot, 190-pound ball carrier on his first visit to Coral Gables. Be sure to read about that.
Last but not least in recruiting – after a busy March full of unofficial visits across the country, Los Alamitos (Calif.) defensive lineman T.A. Cunningham now has the chance to sit back and take in all that he saw. One of the four-star prospects many stops was to the University of Miami, and Cunningham was fairly pleased with what he saw during his visit with the Miami Hurricanes.
There also were your recaps of the baseball team’s series at Virginia to check out, with the Canes getting swept.
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

TWEETS OF THE DAY
MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
If I’m Mario I’m putting a ton of resources in Jacurri Brown … Posted by UMiamiAlum
IMO he’s the type of QB that can take you to the playoffs. Physical specimen. Apparently he’s throwing better too.
MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY
“I kind of committed in coach (Mario) Cristobal’s office yesterday. It was definitely special. Coach Cristobal’s sitting there, coach Dawson’s sitting there, coach Dennis Smith is sitting there, and we’re all sitting there talking and chatting it up, and I’m like, ‘Hey, I wanna go ahead and commit!’ It kind of shocked them. Usually recruits want to wait a few days, but I was just ready to do it. Ready to shut it down for me.”
