WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

The Miami Hurricanes return to the practice field today, and CaneSport will have you fully covered with video of the drill work, our notes off watching the work and post-practice comments from the team. So stay tuned for that.

And with drills set to resume today, Gary Ferman also has his Q&A with fans as the team has wrapped up three weeks of drills. Find out his answers to all of your questions.

Also check out our story on where Mario Cristobal ranks nationally when it comes to base salaries … with some perspective.

In recruiting?

We continue to bring you more updates as we catch up with key visitors from the weekend’s massive Spring Splash recruiting event.

Don’t miss what Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park four-star receiver Corey Barber is saying off his time on campus and where UM stands.

Another visitor we catch up with is Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star interior offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr. Throughout his recruitment, the Hurricanes have been one of the top schools for the 2026 prospect, thanks in large part to Canes offensive line coach Alex Mirabal.

A three-day visitor to Miami? That’s Miami (Fla.) Carol City four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell, who is a UM commit. He worked on recruiting other players to the Canes and talks about that and his status with the commitment.

Plus don’t miss our update with Columbus (Ohio) top-100 running back Henry Ohlinger off his multi-day UM trip. He has a clear understanding of his leaders now.

There’s also a basketball portal story as we talk with former Indiana signee / Bosnian shooting guard Harun Zrno. He’s down to two programs – Miami and Villanova – with visits coming up to both.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

On Carson Beck leadership … Posted by DreadLock

Look man Beck knows what this year means to his future… He’s going to focus on the playbook get his timing down with his WR’s just like Cam did and turn it loose.

He also knows he will have a huge O line protecting his *ss & 2 greats RB’s behind him and a great safety valve at TE to dump off to when things get dicey.

He also knows that if he can get us to double digit W’s beats ND, Gaytors & the SemiHoles and has 30+ TD’s, limits the TO’s and has a high 60 maybe even 70 completion ratio and gets his team into the playoffs he’ll be one of the 1st QB’s selected in 2026 and command a 20 to 30 million contract..

Trust me he’ll be ready

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

Neil Gershman-Zooba Images

“A great dude. He’s for the team, you can go to him and talk. He’s real knowledgeable. If I go out there and run something and it isn’t as precise, he’ll say `Listen, this right here, you can do it like this.’ And it works. Even though he’s watching he does a lot of coaching, helping us get better. I love it.”
