Georiga offer ‘validation’ for 2026 EDGE Jordan Carter’s hard work

Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County 2026 edge Jordan Carter went to Athens on Thursday with a clear goal: Come home with an offer or make a real impression on Georgia’s coaching staff.

He did both.

Carter camped with the back-to-back national champions on Thursday and left with an offer. Carter had eyes on him going in.

“They said they were going to make sure that I had a Catapult Harness on to track my progress,” Carter said. “We broke into FLEX and that’s all she wrote… I feel like anything that’s wanted is earned so I had to go get it. I love competing so it was just another day at the office.”

Carter felt like a major priority from the moment he stepped on campus. Georgia outside linebacker coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe met Carter as he entered the facility.

Carter was greeted by his nickname. That caught the 6-foot-3, 235-pound edge’s attention and made him feel pretty special. Carter greeted Uzo-Diribe with a message of his own.

“When I first arrived on campus, coach (Chidera) Diribe greeted me by my nickname “Breeze” and expressed he was excited to see me work,” Carter said. “I told them I was more than excited to get to work to show I’m the best in the 2026 class at my position.”

Georgia is an immediate contender for Jordan Carter

Georgia jumped into the top spot for Carter early on according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Bulldogs have a 76 percent chance of landing Carter according to RPM early on.

The offer was a bit of validation. Carter hit the weight room hard in the offseason to add size to his frame for his sophomore season.

Carter felt relief. His work turned into something good on Thursday.

“It truly was validation of all my hard work and progress over the years and I’m truly blessed and thankful,” Carter said.

Georgia has also been one of Carter’s dream schools for a long time. They’re already high on his board. Carter will return with his high school team on June 15 for a camp.

“Georgia still sits at the top of my dream schools,” Carter said. “I’m excited to return on the 15th of June with my team The Douglas County Tigers to camp again…This time I took an in-depth tour of the facility, I took photos in the uniforms, and the biggest standout difference was I was blessed to earn an offer.”
