Georgia snags Texas A&M WR Noah Thomas from transfer portal

Georgia has added a physical presence to it’s receiver room in the form of Texas A&M wideout Noah Thomas. Sources tell DawgsHQ that the the 6-foot-6 Texas native has committed to Georgia and is expected to be on campus later this week.

Thomas is the fifth portal addition for Georgia with all five coming in the past three days. Zachariah and Zion Branch became the first two transfer commits on January 5. The Bulldogs added two more players earlier today, both in the defensive backfield. Miami safety Jaden Harris committed to the Bulldogs first and he was followed by UAB safety Adrian Maddox, who flipped from Florida. Thomas is the No. 27 player in the On3 Transfer Portal rankings and the No. 10 wideout.

The former four-star product is coming off the best season of his college career. He hauled in 39 passes for 574 yards and eight touchdowns. He was one of just nine players in the SEC to tally three receptions of 50 yards or more in 2024. He had a 73-yard touchdown in a 43-41 quadruple-overtime loss to Auburn in November and tallied two 100-yard games on the year.

Each of Thomas’ three seasons at Texas A&M saw him appear in 11 or more games. He caught just five passes for 51 yards as a freshman, reaching the end zone twice. He built on that in year two, hauling in 29 passes for 359 yards and give more scores.

More on the transfer portal…

The NCAA student-athlete transfer portal launched in 2018. It marked a change from when student-athletes had to get a release from their school to transfer to another and they could be limited as to where they transferred. The portal allows student athletes to simply notify their current school and its compliance department that they intend to move on to another program.

Last season, Georgia lost 21 scholarship players to the portal, watching several end up at power conference programs around the country. The Bulldogs did add to their talent however, as they’ve done before. Adding to the likes of Lawrence CagerTre McKittyDerion KendrickTykee SmithDominic Lovett and others that have joined the program in the past, UGA brought in Trevor EtienneColbie YoungLondon HumphreysBen YurosekXzavier McLeod and others that have had an impact on the Bulldogs’ 2024 campaign.
