Georgia offer ‘a special feeling’ for in-state DB Blake Stewart

Georgia offer ‘a special feeling’ for in-state DB Blake Stewart

While he may have no ranking next to his name yet, 2026 defensive back Blake Stewart looks destined for the big time, with several schools already having extended the opportunities for the 6-foot-1, 170 pound corner to play for them at the next level.

“My recruitment is going very well,” Stewart said. “It is just now starting to take off. I’ve been to Temple and Tennessee football camps, and I am going to more next month. So far, I heard from Tennessee, Georgia State, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Coastal Carolina, and I have offers from UGA, Georgia Tech, SMU, Tulane, Temple, Indiana, Charlotte, Massachusetts, Pittsburgh, North Alabama and Memphis.”

The in-state Bulldogs did their due diligence before pulling the trigger, seeing Stewart in action several times ahead of the offer.

“Coach T-Rob [Travaris Robinson] and Coach Dee [Donte Williams] came to my high school, Woodward Academy,” Stewart said. “I spoke to Coach T-Rob after that, and he said he wanted to see more of me and invited me to camp. My school participated in 7-on-7 at UGA, and I was able to showcase my skills. I was able to participate in a workout during lunch where we did 1-on-1 and drills. After that Coach Dee let me know that I had an offer from UGA. They said they like the way I moved and my ball skills. Also, that I am very versatile that can play safety or corner as well.”

For Stewart, it was a moment he won’t soon forget.

“It felt great to know that I had an offer from the number one football team in the world,” Stewart said. “My family was very proud of me and knew that this day would come because they believed in me. It was a special feeling.”

There’s still plenty more to learn when it comes to the Bulldogs, however.

“I haven’t seen too much (there yet), but I plan on coming back up there very soon to see more about the program. I know a little about the program, but I am also looking forward to learning more about it. What comes to mind would be a winning team and a very coachable team, as well as having a great coaching staff,” Stewart said.

For now, however, Stewart is taking things slow and considering all of his option fully.

“No standouts rights now,” Stewart said. “My recruitment is really just now taking off and I am looking forward to the future. At the next level, I am looking for a school that could develop me both in football and academically.”
