Georgia in a good spot for several more five-star recruits

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have gotten off to a fast start once again when it comes to building their 2024 recruiting class. After finishing No. 2 during the 2023 cycle, the Bulldogs have the No. 1 class so far this cycle with 19 pledges.
Of those 19 pledges, two are ranked as five-star recruits. The Bulldogs hold the pledge of the No. 1 overall prospect in the country in Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Dylan Raiola and top-10 cornerback Ellis Robinson IV.
On the latest edition of the On3 Roundtable, Georgia recruiting insider Rusty Mansell broke down why he thinks the Bulldogs are far from done when it comes to landing five-star recruits
“Well, you look at the list and I pinned it down to about 11 guys that are five stars,” Mansell said. “They’ve got two of them already but can they land KJ Bolden, top player in the state of Georgia and five star safety out of Buford. That’s a big one.
“Then you look at Williams Nwaneri, the five-star defensive lineman. I think he is a guy that Georgia has really kind of picked some steam up on.”
Other than those two, Mansell also noted that he feels like the Bulldogs are in a good spot for five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott as well.
Regardless of which of those players do pick Georgia in the end, Mansell feels confident that the number of five-stars they end with won’t be two.
“I feel confident at the end of the day that Georgia is gonna have at least, when the final rankings are done, at least four five stars,” Mansell said. “If I had to bet, maybe they slide a fifth in at some point.”
Where Georgia stands with On3 No. 1 recruit Dylan Stewart
One five-star prospect who’s recruitment who’s as open as any is Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy EDGE Dylan Stewart.
The No. 1 player in the 2024 On300, the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) has Ohio State and Alabama at the top currently. Georgia has remained heavily involved with Stewart though.
Stewart’s visited Athens three times at this point in his recruitment including an official visit on June 2. Mansell believes that the Bulldogs will likely remain heavily involved even if Stewart isn’t close to making any sort of decision.
“I sat down with him in Nashville during our NIL Elite series and I said, ‘Dylan, you know how you gonna have this thing? How’s it gonna play out?’. He said ‘The one thing I’m gonna do, I’m going all the way to the end’,” Mansell said. “There’s gonna be a lot of peaks and valleys, but this one is gonna take a lot of different twists and turns. I don’t even know how many visits he’s gonna take when it’s all said and done.
“I think this was gonna be one we watched all the way into December. But if you’re asking me on June the 12th is George in it for Dylan Stewart, I would say yes.”
