Georgia Football Transfer Portal Central: April 2025

Georgia spring practice is over but the news never stops in College Football. Just a few days after the Bulldogs held G-Day and completed a five-week, 15-practice spring, the April transfer portal window has opened.

The portal will be open for the next 10 days, offering players across the country that many days to enter their name. Those players don’t have to pick their destination within that time frame. They only have to get their name in. Georgia enters the window with some clear needs.

First and foremost, the Bulldogs want to add an EDGE. That’s the biggest need and they could add as many as two players at that one spot. Georgia is also targeting a defensive lineman, a running back, and maybe even a quarterback. Each of those positions take a backseat to EDGE but they are priorities.

Below, DawgsHQ will be keeping you updated on all of it. We’ll provide you links to premium scoop and intel while also providing you with news and notes. Bookmark the page and keep coming back to see what Georgia is up to.

Premium intel on confirmed and potential Georgia targets…

*** DawgsHQ’s Rusty Mansell dropped a Saturday, April 19 nugget on Atkinson and his visit to Georgia. Atkinson is currently scheduled to visit Ohio State on Monday, April 21.

*** On3’s Pete Nakos is calling his shot with a couple of Georgia targets. He thinks the Bulldogs will land at least two of the players it is hosting for a visit.

*** Rusty Mansell has the latest on which transfer prospects will be in Athens on Friday. It sounds like UGA will host at least three players for multi-day visits.

*** It seems that Atkinson and Smith are certainly major targets for the Bulldogs early on. DawgsHQ dropped a little intel on each of those players on Thursday.

*** DawgsHQ’s Rusty Mansell put together a list of prospects he thinks Georgia should pursue after the first day. The list is heavy on defensive linemen, EDGE players, and running backs.

Georgia departures…

RB Branson Robinson (Entered on 4/16/2025): After three seasons at Georgia, the Mississippi native is moving on. Robinson missed the entire 2023 season with a knee injury and most of the 2024 season with multiple injuries to the same joint. – The Story

WR Nitro Tuggle (Entered on 4/17/2025): After announcing intentions to enter the portal in December of 2024, Tuggle has actually done it this time. Georgia suspended him indefinitely this spring after a speeding incident where he was traveling 107 miles per hour. – The Story

OL Marques Easley (Entered on 4/17/2025): The redshirt freshman offensive lineman was involved in a reckless driving incident on March 17. He, too, was suspended in definitely. Georgia prioritized Easley in the 2024 class. – The Story

Confirmed UGA targets/visitors

EDGE Beau Atkinson (North Carolina) – After racking up 38 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks as a sophomore, Atkinson entered the portal on the first day it was open. Georgia acted quickly and will host the 6-foot-6 260-pound pass rusher on Friday.

EDGE Elo Modozie (Army) – The St. Augustine native spent two years in West Point where he played in 25 games. He had 34 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks as a sophomore. Similar to the situation with Atkinson, Georgia acted quickly to get him on campus for a visit. He’ll be in town on Friday, too.

DL Maraad Watson (Syracuse) – Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Texas are in the mix for Watson per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He was a freshman All-American in 2024.

DL Joshuan Horton (Miami) – The Langston Hughes High School (Fairburn, Ga.) product got in the portal on the first day it was open. He is also expected to be in Athens on Friday and he had a Georgia offer in the 2023 cycle.

DL Sedrick Smith (Alabama A&M) – Georgia is quite familiar with the former South Atlanta standout. He’s expected in town this weekend for a visit and there have already been a couple of RPM picks made in favor of the Bulldogs. Smith spent his first season at South Carolina State, where he redshirted. Then he made his way to Huntsville where he played a major role in year two.
