Georgia commit Ny Carr wants to officially visit Florida Gators

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA — Ny Carr didn’t mince words.
According to the 4-star receiver from Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County, flipping him from Georgia will be “real hard.”
But he said, Florida and Tennessee continue to try.
Wednesday, Carr competed in Florida’s 7-on-7 camp and helped lead his team to the title. While there, he got to chat with receivers coaches Billy Gonzales and David Doeker.
When asked how often he communicates with the Gators, Carr replied, “Kinda of, a little bit. With coach Doeker and Coach Gonzales every now and then. They’re like simple talks, conversations, checking on how I’m doing. Seeing if I’m still interested and stuff like that.”
Does Carr, the No. 12 receiver in the country for the On3 Industry Ranking, have any interest in Florida?
“Kind of,” Carr said. “(Because of) the wide receiver play. The receivers can get in the game and be themselves. I like that. I like being myself in a good offense that throws the ball to the receivers.”
The Gators have been to Carr’s school multiple times in the past year. Meanwhile, Gonzales arrived back at Florida earlier this year and has tried to develop a relationship with him.
“Staying on me, making sure I’m doing good in school, making sure he comes to see me — stuff like that,” Carr said.
What does Gonzales like about Carr’s game?
“Really, everything. He likes everything,” Carr said.
Ny Carr says he’ll return to Florida this fall
According to Carr, he plans to use one of his official visits to Florida.
“In season,” he said. “Yeah, I’m going to take my official here.”
Should that trip happen, Carr said he’ll be watching the receivers closely on game day and “how they’re being coached — how they produce on the field.”
Wednesday wasn’t Carr’s first trip to Gainesville. He visited the Gators earlier in the year and in 2022.
“Really, they’ve got great facilities and stuff like that,” he said. “I like the new basketball courts, the pool — everything. The locker room. I kind of like all the stuff the players get to enjoy their time and rest and chill and stuff like that.”
According to Carr, Florida and Tennessee are really the only two schools still recruiting him outside of Georgia. The Vols also might get an official.
As for his status with Georgia?
“It’s going great,” he said. “I’ll be back there after next week.”
