Georgia commit Malachi Toliver got a look at future on official visit

Cartersville (Ga.) three-star offensive lineman Malachi Toliver was sold on Georgia ahead of his official visit. He still got a great deal out it.
Toliver went to Athens back on June 9 solidly committed to the Bulldogs since March. Toliver had the chance to bring his entire family to come campus for the first time on his official visit.
He also took the visit as an opportunity to get to know the Georgia program a little deeper. He spent time with current players.
Toliver spent time with other recruits. He also got his time with Georgia’s coaches.
“It was great, getting around the other recruits was great,” Toliver said. “I got to hang out with the guys and get to know what the current players feel about the place. We had meetings with the coaches. It was cool. I really enjoyed it.”
Malachi Toliver is still very sold on what Georgia offers
Toliver is solidly locked in with Georgia. The Bulldogs offer Toliver an opportunity to develop long-term. For Toliver, that development isn’t just on the football field.
“If you want to be the best possible player, you have to be at the best possible program,” Toliver said. “The development that they put you through and the staff they’ve built and the little keys are everything. The little things matter. It’s going to be hard. It’s not going to be easy. You go there and you’re going to be not only a great football player but a great man.”
Georgia’s offensive line coach Stacy Searels and his background are also a strong point of focus for Toliver.
“He’s a great all-time coach and he’s been places,” Toliver said. “He said he’d never left Georgia when he did back then. That meant something to me. I think he’s going to be there my whole career probably. Getting to know him as a coach is big. That’s who I’ll be around the majority of the time I’ll be there.”
Georgia’s offensive line class in a position to succeed
Toliver didn’t know what Georgia’s 2024 offensive line class would look like when he took his official visit. He did know Georgia was going to be aggressive in adding to the class.
The Bulldogs’ staff also had eyes on adding five more players. The last two weeks saw Georgia add pledges from a quartet of four-star offensive linemen.
Toliver will play guard and also tackle in Athens. All six Georgia offensive line commits could have a role in the future in Athens.
“They see me as a guard and tackle,” Toliver said. “They’ve also wanted to get like five guys in on the offensive line this year because they’ve got a lot of guys leaving this year. They want to fill in some spots.”
Toliver feels the group is set up for long-term success at Georgia. Selling Georgia wasn’t a hard thing to do. Toliver also feels the group can push one another.
“You have coach Searels, he’s put a lot of guys in the league and then you have coach Smart, who in my opinion is the best coach in college football,” Toliver said. “You’re around guys that want you to be great. It’s an atmosphere over there. It’s the best of the best. You’re going to get to develop by the best of the best.”
