It’s been nearly a month since more than half a dozen South Carolina Gamecocks inked deals with NFL teams. Since then, players have took part in rookie minicamps while some undrafted free agents have earned contracts.
Here’s the latest on what you need to know about the 2023 Gamecocks in the NFL rookie class.

DRAFTED
Cam Smith
Smith was the first Gamecock to be drafted in 2023 class when he was selected in the second round by the Miami Dolphins. While his contract has not been officially signed yet, according to Spotrac Smith is projected to receive a deal worth over $7M with a signing bonus north of $2M. He’ll wear No.24 for the Dolphins.
Zacch Pickens
Pickens was drafted in the third round with the 64th overall pick. He recently signed a four-year deal worth $5,763,791 with the Chicago Bears. According to reports, that included a $1,191,848 signing bonus and $2,203,838 in total guarantees. Pickens will wear No.96 for the Bears.
Darius Rush
A fifth round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts, Rush inked a four-year contract worth $4,197,660 earlier this month. According to reports the contract includes a signing bonus worth $357,660. Rush will wear No.30 for the Colts.

Jalen Brooks
A seventh round draft pick, Brooks signed a four-year $3,922,360 contract recently with the Dallas Cowboys. The deal included a signing bonus worth $82,360. Like most rookie contracts, his base salary will increase each year throughout the deal. It’ll be $750,000 in 2023. Brooks will wear No.83.
Jovaughn Gwyn
The No.225th overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons Gwyn signed his first NFL contract just over a week ago. The four-year deal is worth $3.945M and came with a signing bonus of $105,828. Gwyn will wear No.56 for the Falcons.
UNDRAFTED FREE AGENTS
Nate Adkins
Adkins was one of 15 UDFA that the Denver Broncos signed on May 12. The deal is worth $2.705M over three years including $75,000 in guarantees, which includes a $10,000 signing bonus. As is the case for most undrafted players, and some rookies, Adkins is one of two players who have been assigned No.45 heading into training camp.
Josh Vann
An UDFA, Vann inked a three-year deal with the Carolina Panthers. The contract is worth $2,695,000 and came with $40,000 in guarantees. That includes a $10,000 signing bonus. Vann has been given No.87 heading into training camp.

Eric Douglas
Douglas was one of 27 rookies/first-year players to be invited to minicamp by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unfortunately, he was not one of the three try-out players who the Buccaneers signed. He remains a free agent.
Sherrod Greene
The linebacker was invited to minicamp by the New York Jets but failed to receive a contract. According to his agency, Pro Level Sports Agency, LLC, as of Saturday May 20, he remains a free agent.
Christian Beal-Smith
An UDFA, Beal-Smith recently took part in minicamp with the Arizona Cardinals. He was one of just four non-roster rookie minicamp invitees but did he not end up signing with the team and remains a free agent.
