FSU builds ‘stronger’ bond with WR commit Abrams; WRs Madison, Moore impressed by official visits

Florida State hosted five wide receiver targets for official visits this weekend, including two who are already committed to the Seminoles. And it was one of those two who might have generated the most curiosity entering this visit.
Four-star wide-receiver Tawaski Abrams had taken official visits to both Texas A&M and Florida recently, causing some to question whether he was going to stay a part of Tribe24.
For the most part, Abrams put that to rest on Sunday morning.
“It was great, to be back home,” Abrams said after his official visit. “Get talking back with everybody, getting that relationship that we had rekindled. … It was reassuring, you know. Everyone got this image painted [of] I’m going here, I’m going there. But they don’t know me. I’m me. So it was good to be back home though.
“I’ve been to A&M and Florida. Florida State don’t got the most flashiest stuff, but you know it’s real. It’s genuine. It comes from the heart.”
Abrams said FSU head coach Mike Norvell actually encouraged him to take visits elsewhere, because he knows those other schools can’t compare.
“[Norvell doesn’t] want to be one of those schools that, ‘Oh, you want to go see other places, oh you don’t have an offer from us.’ Nah, ‘Go see them places. Just know it’s not better than Florida State.’”
Abrams didn’t want to offer a percentage or rating of how committed he is to Florida State, other than saying that his commitment is even “stronger” now.
He also said he is done with summer visits and will not be taking an official to Colorado. All he wants to do right now is enjoy his last summer as a high school student.
Two other wide receivers taking part in FSU’s big official visit weekend were four-star James Madison II and three-star Elijah Moore.
Moore, a Maryland product, didn’t waste any time getting to the point in his post-visit interview.
“All I’m gonna say is FSU is No. 1 right now,” Moore stated
The 15th-ranked prospect in Maryland, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, said he loved the family atmosphere at FSU. He said he could see it in the way the Seminoles’ current receivers interacted.
“They’re definitely tight,” Moore said. “They stick together.”
He also said he appreciated the fact that the Seminoles first offered him a scholarship when he was in the eighth grade, and they have never wavered in their interest.
“They’ve stuck with me,” Moore said. “Coach Norvell, I trust him. I trust Coach Dugans (receivers coach Ron Dugans). It’s like a family up there. I trust everybody.”

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound receiver said he expects to make his announcement on July 4, with Ohio State being the only other school he is still considering.
“I think my mind’s pretty made up,” he said.
Four-star receiver James Madison II also expects to announce his commitment on July 4, and he really seemed to love his visit.
“All my expectations were met,” the Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas standout said. “It’s a great program, a great coaching staff, a great support staff … just being able to come back and be reassured and build on relationships. Everything’s still good. … We’re still building better relationships.”
When asked how he was feeling about Florida State, his answer was very simple: “It’s still Florida State at the end of the day.”
Madison will be deciding between Missouri, Louisville, Oregon, Michigan and of course Florida State. He has only taken official visits to Missouri, Louisville and FSU.
