From The Road: Intel on several elite Michigan targets at IMG Academy

From The Road: Intel on several elite Michigan targets at IMG Academy

*** Michigan has extended offers to several high profile underclassmen at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, including On300 2026 offensive lineman Breck Kolojay, who made his first trip to Ann Arbor in June. Kolojay enjoyed his time on campus and told me he hopes to be on campus this fall. Kolojay also said that Michigan is at the top of the list for his mother, which is always a positive sign. Kolojay is originally from Colorado and shares the same trainer as Michigan offensive lineman Connor Jones and former offensive lineman Drake Nugent. In fact, Kolojay grew up right down the street from Nugent. Those connections should help the Wolverines here. Oklahoma currently has a small lead on the On3 RPM.

*** Michigan also has offers out to two other 2026 offensive linemen at IMG Academy in Top 100 tackle Keenyi Pepe and On300 guard G’Nivre Carr. Pepe has yet to make a visit to Michigan but told me he would like to make that happen at some point in the near future. He added that he is in regular contact with Michigan offensive line coach Grant Newsome. With that said, Pepe will be a tough pull as Miami and Oregon are considered two big early frontrunners. Carr just listed Michigan in his Top 11 and is looking to visit soon. However, the Florida native seems very high on schools in the southeast.

*** Flipping over to the defensive side of the ball, Michigan hosted On300 2026 EDGE Jake Kreul for an unofficial visit in June and is now a major contender in his recruitment. The Orlando-area native was actually in Ann Arbor the same weekend that Top 100 quarterback Brady Hart gave the Wolverines a verbal pledge. And yes, Hart is already doing some recruiting there. New Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito is already making Kreul a top priority and was actually texting him right before our interview. Kreul is a Florida legacy, but it does seem like he is very open to leaving his home state.

*** Michigan has offers out to two 2026 defensive linemen in On300 prospect Preston Carey and four-star prospect Elijah Golden. Michigan offered Carey super early in the process and hosted him for a visit last year. There hasn’t been a ton of communication there, so we’ll see if Esposito turns up the heat. Esposito did recently extend an offer to Golden, who tweeted out that Michigan is his dream school. The Virginia native has no direct ties to U-M but did grow up rooting for the Wolverines and loved the way the team played last season. Michigan is already a top contender here, and Golden is looking to visit soon.

*** Michigan re-offered Top 100 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive back Zech Fort  in June. There was a drop off in contact with Fort after the staff change. However, Fort had a good first call with Morgan and is looking forward to building a relationship with him. Remember, Fort has already visited Michigan on numerous occasions, including for the game against Ohio State last fall, and has family in the Detroit-metro.

*** Very quickly, Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford stopped by IMG Academy during the spring evaluation period and extended an offer to rising 2027 running back Tranard Roberts. The Florida native told me that he likes Alford early on and wants to make his first visit very soon. Roberts added that he has already developed a friendship with teammate and 2025 Michigan running back commit Donovan Johnson, who is recruiting him to Ann Arbor.
