Fran Brown turns the tables on team, gives Syracuse players eggnog bath after explaining allergy
Syracuse head coach Fran Brown was instrumental in an impressive turnaround season for the Orange this year on the gridiron. He guided them to a 10-3 overall record in his debut season, leading them to a victory on Friday night in the DirectTV Holiday Bowl. After the win, they were trying to dump the eggnog on Brown, since he was the winning head coach. But he explained his egg allergy to everybody involved and gave his players an eggnog shower instead.
Following the game, Brown spoke with Joel Klatt on the stage. How does 10 wins in his first year feel? “First off, God is good. Just number one thing, man. God has blessed us. I think he’s blessed us this whole team. And this is my first year, it means so much to me, man. Just right now, just been thinking towards the end of the game. I’m so thankful that my mother had me. She’s in heaven watching down. I just was thinking about that and just want to make sure I get a chance to say, ‘Mom, I love you and I know you’re watching down on us.’ But having the opportunity to be here means a lot,” Brown explained.
