Fox unveils badass 2025 Daytona 500 commercial during NFC Wild Card game
The 2025 Daytona 500 is just around the corner and FOX will be broadcasting the event for the 18th consecutive year.
Though it may still be football season with the NFL playoffs underway, FOX is already reminding NASCAR fans of what’s to come on Feb. 16 at Daytona International Speedway. During the second quarter of Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Round game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, FOX aired a commercial hyping up “The Great American Race.”
This year’s Daytona 500 will be No. 67 of one of NASCAR’s crown jewels, which kicks off the new season annually. 43 different drivers have taken the checkered flag in the Daytona 500. William Byron did it last year.
It was a moment Byron will never forget, and there are many drivers who hope to join him as a Daytona 500 champion. Those include Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Tyler Reddick and yes, Kyle Busch, who has accomplished everything NASCAR has to offer sans a Daytona 500 victory.
Trackhouse, Helio Castroneves secure new Open Exemption Provisional for Daytona 500
This year’s race will also feature a Daytona first timer in Helio Castroneves. The four-time Indy 500 champion announced last week he would attempt to qualify for the Daytona 500 in the No. 91 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing. After NASCAR’s latest rule change, Castroneves is officially in the field without having to earn it in qualifying.
For the first time ever, NASCAR is granting an Open Exemption Provisional for Trackhouse and Castroneves. The Project 91 team will have an automatic 41st starting spot in the Daytona 500 if they fail to make the 40-car field in qualifying or the Duels.
Should he fail to make the top 40, another team will not be punished and pushed out for the 91 car. Instead, Castroneves will be a 41st entry.
